Carter Towler, a leading independent chartered surveying firm, has announced the relocation of its headquarters to Apsley House in Leeds, following its 75th anniversary last year. The firm has secured a five-year lease on a 5,650 sq ft ground-floor office space within the Grade II listed building, known for its striking brick and red terracotta facade. Located at the junction of Queen Street and Wellington Street, Apsley House is situated just minutes away from the train station, city square, and retail quarter, making it an ideal location for both staff and clients.
Managing Director Ian Greenwood expressed excitement about the move, stating, “We are proud of the fact that we have over seven decades of business under our belts but know only too well that we must continue to evolve to succeed. This is a pivotal step in our future development. It is all about providing the best possible environment for our staff to thrive in, and our clients to visit.”
Despite the historic charm of Apsley House, Greenwood emphasised the desire to create a contemporary workspace that meets modern demands. With the help of fitout partners Building Interiors, the firm has successfully transformed the office space to reflect a modern work environment while preserving the building’s character.
This relocation underscores Carter Towler’s commitment to growth and innovation within the property sector. The company currently employs 58 staff and has additional offices in York and Durham. Its continued success is attributed to its strong industry presence; earlier this year, Carter Towler’s agency team was recognised as West Yorkshire’s top dealmaker across all property sectors.
The firm’s property management department manages over 5,000 properties nationwide, while its building services consultancy has overseen projects valued at £1.4 million since the beginning of the year. Furthermore, the valuation department has completed over 300 valuations in the past 12 months, with some total asset values exceeding £10 million.
Director Matt Faulkes shared his thoughts on the impact of the move, noting, “The move has brought an added energy across the whole of the business, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with Pullans, our new landlords—who also happen to be longstanding clients—on finalising the details of the new lease. We hope this new dimension to our working relationship will prove to be a resounding success for us all!”
Carter Towler’s new headquarters at Apsley House represents not just a change of address, but a strategic shift aimed at fostering a more dynamic work environment. With the company poised for further growth, the relocation to this prominent location reflects its ambitions for the future.
As Carter Towler settles into its new home, it aims to continue providing exceptional service to its clients while adapting to the evolving landscape of the property market. The firm remains optimistic about its future and the opportunities that lie ahead in this new chapter.
