Coldplay are set to break Taylor Swift’s record for the most nights performed at Wembley Stadium.
The band announced 10 nights at the iconic venue next summer, surpassing Swift’s previous record of eight.
Record-breaking Announcement
Coldplay are scheduled to play an unprecedented 10 nights at London’s Wembley Stadium next summer, breaking the record previously held by Taylor Swift and Take That. Initially, the band announced a six-night run in August 2025, but demand during a fan-only presale led them to add four more shows in September, totalling 10 nights.
Ticket Sales and Pricing
The general ticket sale will begin on Friday, 27 September, with prices starting at £20 plus fees. The band has opted not to use Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model. A message on the company’s website confirmed that all ticket prices are fixed at the advertised rate.
Coldplay’s tour dates support their upcoming 10th album, ‘Moon Music’, set for release on 4 October. This will be their only European tour dates in 2025, apart from a couple of nights at Hull’s Craven Park Stadium.
Fan and Local Community Engagement
Coldplay has shown a strong commitment to their fanbase as well as local communities. Fifty per cent of tickets for the Hull concerts will be reserved for local fans residing in specific postcodes (HU, YO, DN, LN).
Ten per cent of the proceeds from these concerts will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, which supports small grassroots concert halls around the UK.
Previous Performances and Reviews
The band headlined Glastonbury earlier this year, featuring guest appearances from Michael J. Fox, Little Simz, Femi Kuti, and Elyanna. The performances garnered a series of five-star reviews.
The Independent described it as ‘the spectacle of a lifetime,’ while The Guardian noted that it was impossible not to be swept up in the ‘cartoonish good fun’.
Film star Tom Cruise, who attended the concert, called it simply ‘awesome’ from the VIP area at the side of the Pyramid Stage.
Environmental Initiatives
Coldplay has made notable strides in reducing the environmental impact of their tours. The band achieved a 59% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions compared to their previous world tour.
Efforts include offering £20 ‘Infinity tickets’ for each show. These tickets are sold in pairs and can be placed anywhere in the venue, including the very best seats.
For the Wembley dates, a pair of these tickets will cost around £52, inclusive of a £2.75 sustainability fee charged by the stadium.
Band’s Future Plans
Frontman Chris Martin hinted that ‘Moon Music’ could be their last ‘proper album’. He stated they might focus on touring and possible collaborations in the future, rather than recording new albums.
However, he later mentioned the band plans to create a total of 12 albums before potentially ceasing to produce new music. ‘We’re going to make 12 albums. Because it’s a lot to pour everything into making them,’ Martin explained.
Social Media Response and Additional Dates
Pre-sale tickets for Coldplay’s 2025 tour went on sale on Thursday for fans who pre-ordered ‘Moon Music’. The first tranche of dates sold out in approximately 20 minutes.
Recognising the demand, the band added four extra dates at Wembley Stadium, with pre-sales beginning at 2:30pm BST. This brings the total to 10 nights, making Coldplay the act with the most nights performed at the world-renowned venue in a single year.
Coldplay’s decision to add more dates signals their enduring popularity and commitment to inclusivity and sustainability.
With 10 nights booked at Wembley Stadium, they are not only setting records but also promising unforgettable experiences for their fans.
