Canadian company Premier Tech has announced the opening of a new production site in Montbrison, located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, as part of its ongoing expansion in the country. The new facility will focus on the production and commercialisation of sustainable solutions for wastewater treatment and rainwater management. This development marks a significant boost for Premier Tech Water and Environment, reinforcing its foothold in the French market and increasing its manufacturing capabilities.
Yann Nedellec, Senior Director of Sales for Business Development at Premier Tech Water and Environment in France, stated that the new site aligns with the company’s growth strategy, which is driven by its commitment to delivering more value to its clients. “The prime location of the Montbrison site will allow Premier Tech to amplify its market presence both regionally and nationally. It will also enable stronger interactions with local partners and clients, positioning this facility as a key strategic location for our group,” he said.
The project has received strong backing from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, which contributed over €130,000 to help establish the Montbrison site. Stéphanie Pernod, Senior Vice-President for Economy, Reshoring, Regional Preference, and Digital Affairs, highlighted the importance of the project, stating, “The Region has long supported projects aimed at bringing businesses back to local areas. This effort, part of our €1.2 billion Relocalisation Plan, also focuses on training and developing innovative digital and automated production processes, which ensure our industries remain competitive.”
She added that the new facility, which will create nearly 10 jobs, was part of the Region’s broader efforts to maintain local production and employment. The Montbrison facility will not only serve as a production hub but also as a point of service, centralising the entire manufacturing process and maintaining close proximity to Premier Tech’s clients.
Thierry Hareux, Vice-President of Wastewater and Rainwater Management at Premier Tech, emphasised the company’s focus on innovation, particularly in onsite and collective wastewater systems. “Beyond job creation in the Loire Forez Agglomération, we are striving to innovate in wastewater systems, always with the goal of better protecting water resources,” he said.
In addition to expanding its production capacity, Premier Tech Water and Environment is aiming to extend this model to other sites across France. The company sees the Montbrison site as a blueprint for further development in the country.
Julien Gilles, Senior Director of Operations for Premier Tech Water and Environment in France, noted that by strengthening its presence in the French market, Premier Tech would not only enhance relationships with clients but also reduce delivery times and carbon emissions. “Our increased proximity to clients will foster stronger relationships, enhance the customer experience, and lower transportation-related greenhouse gas emissions,” he explained.
