FPT Software, a global leader in IT services, and GigaX, an affiliate of South Korea’s SK Group, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on a digital transformation framework aimed at improving operational efficiency and sustainability for European businesses. The two-year partnership will focus on developing joint go-to-market strategies, technological collaborations in carbon emissions management, and the sharing of engineering resources.
The initiative is expected to have a significant impact on sectors such as automotive, semiconductors, energy, and battery technologies, where the joint efforts of both companies will introduce cutting-edge solutions. The collaboration is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the market presence of FPT Software and GigaX across Europe while expanding their customer base.
FPT Software has expressed enthusiasm over the partnership, with Tran Van Dung, CEO of FPT Software Europe, highlighting the importance of the agreement. “FPT Software has been building a robust global partner network, and we are excited to welcome GigaX into this ecosystem. By combining our vast engineering expertise with GigaX’s strong track record in digital transformation across high-growth sectors such as semiconductors, energy, and batteries, we are confident in our ability to create a substantial impact in Europe. Together, we aim to tackle critical challenges, including carbon emissions and environmental sustainability,” he said.
GigaX, a company known for developing technologies that enable businesses to manage carbon emissions effectively, sees the partnership as a valuable opportunity. Suk Joo Choi, Managing Director of GigaX, commented, “By collaborating with FPT Software and combining the strengths of both companies, we expect to uncover valuable business opportunities.” He also emphasised that the partnership aligns with GigaX’s goal of enabling businesses to meet sustainability targets more effectively.
The partnership is poised to help both companies meet the growing demand for sustainable business practices, particularly in Europe, where regulations on carbon emissions and environmental sustainability are becoming more stringent. FPT Software has been active in Europe since 2008, establishing a strong foothold in the region with operations in nine countries. The company has played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation for over 150 businesses across various sectors. These include collaborations with major German companies like E.ON, RWE, and Schaeffler.
FPT Software’s growth in Europe has also been bolstered by strategic partnerships and acquisitions. In 2014, the company acquired RWE IT Slovakia, a subsidiary of energy giant RWE, further strengthening its presence in the energy sector. More recently, FPT Software expanded its footprint in France with the acquisition of the IT consulting firm AOSIS in 2023.
The new collaboration with GigaX is expected to accelerate both companies’ efforts to support European businesses in achieving their digital transformation goals while addressing sustainability challenges. For more information, please visit https://fptsoftware.com/ and https://www.giga-x.com/.
